Resident Evil 5 press kits..Today!

April 16, 2009 at 4:54 pm by Ryan in Obscurities

tricellkit

Capcom announced about an hour ago that they will be selling the RE5 Tricell press kits to the public starting at 3pm pst (6pm est). Very short notice but I know I couldn’t live without one..or two. No price has been announced. No one will know untill the item shows up.

I doubt these will sell out as fast as the SF2THDR and MM9 kits did, so there should be enough time to secure one.

BlazBlue pre-orders

April 13, 2009 at 1:31 am by Ryan in Imports, News

blazblue_logoNCSX and Play-Asia are now taking pre-orders for the import fighter BlazBlue. While this game isn’t going to be stealing any thunder from SF4 of KoF12, it will be good to get some Guilty Gear style action in HD. Hori is also releasing some themed joysticks for BlazBlue. Of course the 360 users will be getting the inferior joystick compared to the PS3. Not that it matters though, if you don’t have a NTSC/J 360 you’ll have to play it on PS3 anyway.

Play-Asia:

BlazBlue PS3 $68.90 | Hori wireless BlazBlue Fighting stick PS3 $119.99

BlazBlue 360 $68.90 | Hori wired BlazBlue Fighting stick 360 $99.99

NCSX:

BlazBlue PS3 $65.90 | Hori wireless BlazBlue Fighting stick PS3 $139.99

BlazBlue 360 $65.90 | Hori wired BlazBlue Fighting stick 360 $99.99

Columbus Gaming. Now with 1080 more lines of resolution.

Thanks to the generosity of a good friend, we now have a Sony HDR-SR1 to record events and tournaments at 1080i. Mad thanks go out to my friend Dana for the hook up.

Now to get the tournaments rolling again.

No PnT tournaments for a little while.

March 19, 2009 at 4:08 pm by Ryan in Tournaments

PnT will be holding off on the next couple weeks worth of tournaments untill we can figure out a way to better publicize them. The last couple of tourneys after SF4 were low turn out, and we are going to brain storm some ways to better get the word out.

Of course this site’s goal is to be the place to get the word out. We’ll be moving ahead with placing flyers in various high visablity places including the front desk at Play N Trade. Our forums will be open soon too, which will also help.

If you have friends that game, let them know about the site. Word of mouth is a great tool.

I’ve been infected since 1996

March 10, 2009 at 2:13 pm by Ryan in Blog

jillsandwichNo, not with anything contagious.. Resident Evil is by far my favorite game series of all time. I’ve been hooked on it since the day I had to rent a PS1 from Blockbuster to play it. The original PS1 version has a special place in my heart — The live actors, bad voice overs, pre-rendered enviroments, static camera angles. It’s all just pure gold. Granted #4 and now #5 follow a different formula, I can’t help but break out the wallet when Capcom calls.

I’ll be picking up the PS3 collector’s edition on the 13th and the Xbox 360 elite [red] limited edtion bundle soon after. These LE 360 bundles are all Jasper units with the new 65nm cpu/gpu. If you’re looking for a new 360 that won’t RROD on you, this is one to get right now.

Very few companys have managed to part me with money like Capcom has done with Resident Evil. I’ve got a decent collection that I will post up soon.

Oh, and I hope everyone enjoys the new RE theme on the website.

Ok.. So maybe I need to work on coordination.

March 6, 2009 at 12:43 pm by Ryan in Blog

So last night I had a couple friends over to play some Street Fighter 4. Playing with the usual guys is always good fun as it’s more of  a chess game than a spam fest.

Except last night..

One of the guys, Chris, brought over his PS3 to use as he had some of the alternate costume packs. Everything was going smoothly until I decided to walk between the PS3/TV and joysticks…I trip over the joystick cables and yank the PS3 off the entertainment center. It comes crashing 3 feet down on to an area rug with solid concrete underneath. Pieces fly off everywhere, everyone almost dies from heart attacks, but the PS3 keeps on playing. I didn’t know what was more shocking.. The fact that the PS3 fell to the ground, or, that it was still working.

Truthfully the system is mechanically sound, it’s just cosmetically damaged. I can’t leave a friend hanging like

that so I’m off to replace the unit today. Thank god it wasn’t the impossible to replace backwards compatible 60gb.
