What the heck is up?

Posted by Ryan On July - 25 - 2009

If you are reading this, you can see that there isn’t a whole lot of content or any recent updates.
Where are the promised forums you might ask? And what about all the other features?

Honestly, it’s up in the air. The last couple months I’ve had very little time to do anything with this site or gaming in general.
As soon is things calm down, and if at the end I still even reside in Columbus, I’ll get it done.

That’s all for now.

Rocket Riot = Chaotic fun

Posted by Ryan On June - 18 - 2009

rocketriotSorry for the lack of updates folks, it’s boring times here in Columbus.

Fortunately,  Rocket Riot has finally hit XBL to help pass the time. At only $10 the fun for the buck factor is through the roof. Coop and deathmatch are available in split screen, XBL, and system link modes. There are several modes like Rugby Riot (CTF) that are sheer chaos.

My XBL is “SpeedSk8X” if you want to get your DM on.

Columbus Gaming. Now with 1080 more lines of resolution.

Thanks to the generosity of a good friend, we now have a Sony HDR-SR1 to record events and tournaments at 1080i. Mad thanks go out to my friend Dana for the hook up.

Now to get the tournaments rolling again.

I’ve been infected since 1996

jillsandwichNo, not with anything contagious.. Resident Evil is by far my favorite game series of all time. I’ve been hooked on it since the day I had to rent a PS1 from Blockbuster to play it. The original PS1 version has a special place in my heart — The live actors, bad voice overs, pre-rendered enviroments, static camera angles. It’s all just pure gold. Granted #4 and now #5 follow a different formula, I can’t help but break out the wallet when Capcom calls.

I’ll be picking up the PS3 collector’s edition on the 13th and the Xbox 360 elite [red] limited edtion bundle soon after. These LE 360 bundles are all Jasper units with the new 65nm cpu/gpu. If you’re looking for a new 360 that won’t RROD on you, this is one to get right now.

Very few companys have managed to part me with money like Capcom has done with Resident Evil. I’ve got a decent collection that I will post up soon.

Oh, and I hope everyone enjoys the new RE theme on the website.

Ok.. So maybe I need to work on coordination.

So last night I had a couple friends over to play some Street Fighter 4. Playing with the usual guys is always good fun as it’s more of  a chess game than a spam fest.

Except last night..

One of the guys, Chris, brought over his PS3 to use as he had some of the alternate costume packs. Everything was going smoothly until I decided to walk between the PS3/TV and joysticks…I trip over the joystick cables and yank the PS3 off the entertainment center. It comes crashing 3 feet down on to an area rug with solid concrete underneath. Pieces fly off everywhere, everyone almost dies from heart attacks, but the PS3 keeps on playing. I didn’t know what was more shocking.. The fact that the PS3 fell to the ground, or, that it was still working.

Truthfully the system is mechanically sound, it’s just cosmetically damaged. I can’t leave a friend hanging like

that so I’m off to replace the unit today. Thank god it wasn’t the impossible to replace backwards compatible 60gb.
